Time will tell how beneficial it has been: Hosabale

Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkarywah Dattatreya Hosabale said that electoral bonds are an experiment and time will tell how beneficial and effective it has been.

After being re-elected as Sahkarwah in the RSS’s Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha on Sunday, Hosabale said that the RSS has not discussed it yet as it is an experiment.

He said, “It was implemented with scrutiny and it is not that electoral bonds have been introduced suddenly today. Whenever any change is brought, questions are raised. Questions were also raised on the implementation of EVMs.”

Sarkaryavah said, “When we say minorities in India, Muslims and Christians generally come to mind. We consider everyone as Hindu by nationality. Many of them are working in association with the Sangh. We don’t show it. At the same time, there are people who do not consider themselves Hindu, and talks continue with such people.” He said that everyone should reconsider the concept of the word “minority” in the Constitution.

“It needs to be redefined. Different meanings come to mind when we say minority, then whose country is this?” he asked.

Hosabole said that the Sangh has been opposing minority-oriented politics from the beginning. “The country is one and we should act accordingly. Article 30 of the Constitution also talks about minorities on religious and linguistic basis,” he said.

Hosabale welcomed the Uniform Civil Code, citing its implementation in Uttarakhand.

He also highlighted the rising global credibility of the Central Government in the past decade and said public will analyze it and give its answer on June 4.”

Sarkaryavah said that the attitude of political parties towards the incident that took place in Sandeshkhali was infuriating. In such matters all parties and governments should be united. He said that the Sangh considers women as a part of the society. Therefore, women office bearers are also included in the Sangh meeting.
