Suspended TMC minister had anti-India terror-narco links

Mumbai: Four vehicles registered to former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and his aide, actor Arpita Mukherjee — who were arrested in July in the State School Service Commission (SSSC) scam cases— are untraceable with the Enforcement Directorate hot in pursuit of the missing vehicles. “The ED has as yet been unable to trace four such vehicles registered to Chatterjee and Mukherjee that were last tracked to have left some of the residences being occupied by the latter. The central enforcement and revenue intelligence agency believes that not only a huge stash of gold, silver, diamonds and cash but also—more importantly—documents related to Chatterjee’s ill-gotten wealth was ferried away in these four vehicles,” a person familiar with the issue told First India.

Partha Chatterjee’s links with major stakeholders in the narcotics and prostitution businesses emanating out of Bangladesh and Myanmar, respectively, are also beginning to emerge, this person said. “His links with terror agencies, narcotics and international flesh trade that had become a huge source of revenue for him has emerged during the course of investigations and he is turning out to be a major antiIndia player,” the source said, adding added that it was not a coincidence that WB Chief Minister had immediately removed Chatterjee from her party and suspended him from the TMC. As of July 28, the ED has already recovered Rs49.8 crore in cash, gold worth Rs5.07 crore, Rs56 lakh in forex and coded diaries from the properties related to him and Mukherjee. The ED believes that the recovery of the four vehicles will further enhance this stash of ill-gotten wealth accumulated by Chatterjee while also revealing more skeletons in his closet, particularly related to his anti-India activities.
