State bureaucracy in for major reshuffle in YOGI 2.0 REGIME

Lucknow: After the Yogi cabinet took over its responsibility in UP, now the flurry of change in the bureaucracy has started intensifying.

Many senior officers are retiring this year after serving long tenures while many other bureaucrats are going to join Central deputation.

During the recently concluded elections, the role of many officers posted from the governance to the field level has been under question. On the basis of the feedback received regarding their partisan actions, they are bound to be stripped of their present postings.

Many officers of 1989 batch and subsequent batches have been empanelled to the post of Secretaries in the Central Government.

The influential officers included in the list of potential officers going for central deputation are Additional Chief Secretary to CM SP Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary excise, sugar industry and cane development Sanjay Bhusreddy, Additional Chief Secretary Appointment and personnel Devesh Chaturvedi. Officers holding the post of joint secretaries and directors can also be relieved.

After the post of Chief Secretary, the officers posted in two key positions are also going to retire within a month. In these, the tenure of the present chairman of the Revenue Board, Mukul Singhal and Alok Sinha, posted as Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), will end on April 30.

Discussions are about to start regarding the names of senior bureaucrats for posting to these key posts. DMs of 10 districts including Lucknow, Varanasi & Aligarh have been promoted to secretary level officers.
