Soni Razdan gobsmacked by the resemblance between Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai and her character in Mandi

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Alia Bhatt’s portrayal of Gangubai Kathiawadi won her several accolades and is considered among one of the best performances of her career. Even after several months of being released, fans and audiences are still reeling through the effects of her powerful performance. Now, Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan recently posted a video that drew a resemblance between her character in the film ‘Mandi’ and Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai. And the resemblance is uncanny!

Edited by a fan page of Alia, named @alia.bhatt.edits, the video showed both the characters doing similar actions, hence drawing similarities between their body languages. Soni posted the video on her Instagram and mentioned that she was gobsmacked after watching the video. She wrote, “Have to say I’m gobsmacked with this brilliant edit. Alia Bhatt showed her love for the post by dropping some hearts. The actress’ step-sister and fellow actress Pooja Bhatt too commended the video as she commented, “🙌🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥”. Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar too praised the video and wrote, “So so beautiful” and actress Archana Puran Singh too left a comment saying, “Awwwwwww ❤ Soni. Alia. Both. 😍 Amazing ! So heartwarming to see this!”

Soni Razdan portrayed the role of Nadira, a prostitute in Mandi, a role very similar to that of Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Although Razdan has taken a backseat from films, Alia is currently shooting her Hollywood debut, ‘Heart of Stone’ in Europe alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
