Shivpal’s anger, party dynamics add to SP chief Akhilesh’s woes

Lucknow: A few weeks ago, Saifai clan’s stalwart Shivpal Singh Yadav replaced the header photo of his Twitter handle to his new picture in black and white silhouette with the caption, “Hai Tayyar Hum(we are ready)”. It is apparently clear that now Shivpal is gearing up to take his politics to the next level.

After Akhilesh Yadav’s decision to resign from the membership of the Lok Sabha and assume the post of Leader of Opposition in the UP Legislative Assembly, discontent brewing within his party. Akhilesh’s uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, who won from SP ticket and Azam Khan, who has been in jail for two years, has adopted a rebellious stand.

While the Muslim leaders of Azam Khan’s camp opened a front against Akhilesh, Shivpal Singh Yadav launched a direct verbal attack against his nephew Akhilesh.

Shivpal, who was initially showing an inclination towards the BJP, is now concentrating on the future political prospects along with Azam Khan and other disgruntled allies of SP

While on one hand Shivpal is leaving no stone unturned to use tweets to express anguish against his nephew, on the other hand he is engaged in restructuring his Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia), a breakaway faction of the SP.

Earlier he had dissolved the entire state executive, national and state wings of the PSPL. Right now the discussions are going on regarding the new state president of Shivpal-led party, soon a decision will be taken in this regard.

After this, the party’s state committee will be constituted afresh, then the frontal organization will be reorganized. PSPL is also preparing to organize training sessions at block, tehsil and district level.
