Mumbai (Maharashtra): With the flutter around Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding finally coming to an end, fans are now excited to see the couple live as husband and wife in their daily lives. The couple tied the knot yesterday afternoon in an intimate ceremony at Ranbir’s house at Vastu Apartments.
However, according to Pinkvilla, the couple will not have a reception as was reported previously. In an interview with sangeet and dance choreographer Rajendra Singh, who choreographed Sangeet performances for the Ralia wedding, some intimate details of the festivities were revealed.
Rajendra Singh is a close associate of the Kapoor family and has choreographed for several of their functions. Rajendra, also known as Masterji by his close aides reported that everyone dearly missed Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor during the festivities. He mentioned that everyone recalled how enthusiastic Rishi Ji was during his daughter, Riddhima’s wedding. He recalled, “So how was the dance practice happening, how the wedding preparations are going on - so when you go back in the flashback you remember all these memories. Everyone missed him, including me. He never called me Masterji; he would call me Panditji. I would tell him I am not Panditji, I am Masterji, but he would be like, 'Nahin Tu Panditji hai'”. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away in 2020 after a long battle with cancer.
He further disclosed that Ranbir Kapoor and brother-in-law Bharat Sahani danced to ‘Tainu Leke Main Jawanga’ from Salaam-E-Ishq during their Sangeet. Other boys joined their dance later.
Talking about their much-buzzed reception, Masterji said, “There is no reception. There must be rumours going on, but there is no reception. Neetu is shooting, Ranbir is shooting, Alia is working - so today is the last. Maybe tomorrow they have some house pooja, I have no idea. But as far as I know, there is no reception.”
When all eyes were eagerly waiting to see the couple in their star-studded reception, this comes as disappointing news that will surely break the hearts of Alia and Ranbir fans.
