Probe against Neelabja Chaudhary for clean chit to fellow IPS

Kanpur: After two years of notorious Bikru case, probe was ordered against IPS Anant Dev Tewari and IPS Neelabja Chaudhary into the matter, After Bikru case, advocate Saurabh Bhadauriya had complained about former senior superintendent of police Anant Dev Tewari for his connection with dreaded criminal Vikas Dubey and his cashier Jay Bajpai. The probe was conducted by IPS Neelabja Chaudhary and in his report, he was cleared from allegations.

Other investigations found relations of IPS Anant Dev Tewari and Jay Bajpai and now probe was ordered against accused IPS officer for his connection with Dubey and another IPS officer for providing him clean chit in investigations.

Two teams were formed to probe the issue. A team was formed by Union Home Minister’s office while other team will be of state officials and Saheli Ghosh, joint secretary Home department and Durga Shanker Mishra, chief secretary UP will be parts of teams.

Saurabh Bhadauriya, complainant said that SIT formed by state government and led by IPS Lakshmi Singh had also found relations of Anant Dev and Jay Bajpai. Several police officials were under scanner after Bikaru case which underlined police-criminal relationship. Eight policemen including deputy superintendent of police were killed and seven other injured when Vikas Dubey and his accomplices opened fire on police team that had gone to arrest and accused in Bikaru village late on July 2, 2020 night.
