MASCARA, XG’s 2nd single released with their live performance

Mumbai (Maharashtra): On Wednesday, 29th June, Hip-Hop / R&B girl group XG released their 2nd single MASCARA as a digital download and a limited-edition CD Box Set. The music video was posted at the same time.

MASCARA is built on a powerful, dynamic bass line which fuses elements of Pop and Trap to create a track that defies genre. The song expresses XG’s bold defiance in the lyrics, nobody is going to ruin their mascara, nobody is going to make them cry. The track feels fresh but also powerful and perfectly captures the presence and fearless spirit of XG.

The music video also reflects the concept and worldview of MASCARA, with XG expressing this as high-energy moves and dynamic visuals.
The spiral staircase in the intro is reminiscent of an eye and draws us into a different MASCARA world.

The visuals are sleek and stylish and the performance scenes are truly empowering with dynamic and eye-catching moves. The girls have their confidence and unity on full display as they move forward to the next stage of their already impressive careers.

Fans from all over the world have already commented on the music video:

“The quality is exceptional!”
“Their abilities are outstanding! All of them are leads and are the stars of the show!"
"A series of perfect songs!
"Another great song in a row! It's beyond what I expected."
"They're on a totally different level from other girl groups."
“So proud to see such a great group from Japan being seen by the world!”
“I'm sure the whole world will love this song!”

To prepare these fans, XG's first live performance was broadcast just before the release of the music video. In this live performance, they sang two songs - their debut single, Tippy Toes, and their second single, MASCARA.

While the girls wore black outfits for Tippy Toes, for MASCARA they chose outfits with lavender as the key colour. XG gave such a stunning performance that it was hard to believe it was their first time performing live together.

In a video aired during the Livestream, Jurin said:
"We want to take everything we've built up so far, where we are seven members who can make such an impression on people that they will say, 'I've never seen a group like this before."

The group will also perform on Mnet's popular "MCOUNTDOWN," a Korean music show that will air on June 30 (Thu.) at 18:00 KST/JST. All eyes will be on XG to see what kind of performance they will pull off.

With their first single Tippy Toes, XG posted a variety of videos featuring choreography and dance rehearsals, as well as the music video. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of videos they will deliver with this track to further excite fans with their seemingly unlimited creativity.
