KGF’s Kasim Chacha had a heartbreaking reason behind growing his beard; suffers from this deadly illness
Mumbai (Maharashtra): Actor Harish Roy’s character in the KGF series was something that remains in everyone’s heart. He played the warm-hearted Kasim Chacha who was a father figure throughout the main lead, Rocky’s life and guided him whenever he faced any roadblock. As a result, the actor received immense love personally from fans of the movie franchise. But Harish recently made a shocking revelation that has now worried his fans all over.
During a recent interview with a YouTuber, Harish revealed that he has been suffering from throat cancer for the past three years. Due to his ailment, the actor had overgrown his beard while shooting KGF 2 to hide the swelling lump on the side of his neck. He said, “Sometimes circumstances are kind to you and even now they take things away from you. Luck cannot be avoided. I am suffering from cancer since last three years. There was a reason I had a big beard while working in KGF. This disease has made my neck swollen, hide it.”
He further revealed that he had delayed his surgery as he did not have enough money for the surgery. But due to the delay, his condition worsened over time. Harish said, “I had postponed surgery for some time because I did not have full money for it earlier. I waited for the release of the films. Now I have reached the fourth stage of the disease and things have become very bad.”
He also disclosed that he had made a video for his fans and industry colleagues to seek monetary help but did not have enough courage to post it.
KGF 2 released earlier this year is one of the few films of 2022 that reached global success. The film is the sequel to the 2018 film, KGF which revolved around the politics surrounding the ownership of a huge coal mine industry. The film starred, Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon among others.
