Jaideep Ahlawat charged 50 times the salary of the previous season for Pataal Lok season two

Mumbai (Maharashtra): OTT platforms are changing the look of filmmaking. They provide an opportunity to not only bring forward raw stories but give a platform to talented actors that do not fit the description of a ‘Bollywood star’. Jaideep Ahlawat is one such example who gained critical and commercial success with his Amazon Prime Video original series ‘Pataal Lok’. It has been reported by Pinkvilla that the actor charged a whopping Rs 20 crore for reprising his role as Hathiram in season two.

The actor was given a mere salary of Rs 40 lakhs for the first season which is 50 times lesser than his current salary. It is being said that although it is natural for an actor’s salary to increase with every season, Jaideep Ahlawat has achieved a success no one has in the history of OTT. Sources said that even though everyone knew that such a change would eventually come, no one predicted that it would come so soon.

However, Ahlawat’s fees for commercial movies will remain the same, which is a much smaller amount than his OTT deal. This is a common practice for OTT actors who do not get the deserved recognition in commercial films.
