Gyanvapi dispute: Partial survey done amid tight security, rest to resume today

Varanasi: After Court’s orders, 52 members of both parties including the advocate general initiated a survey of Gyanvapi premises again amidst huge security. It was reported that the team has completed a survey of more than half premises and gathered evidence from there.

The survey team also entered the premises after security checks with all electronic equipment except cameras, as they were not allowed by the court inside premises. The members confirmed that remaining survey will be completed in next 2 days. The plaintiff and other party members along with their lawyers, and district officials were present during the legal proceedings. The survey proceedings of rest premises will begin on Sunday morning at 8, Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate underlined. Raees Ahmad, advocate Anjuman Intejamia Committee said theproceeding of the commission was completed in a peaceful manner.

A Survey of the left premises will be completed tomorrow, he pointed out adding that both parties coordinated for the legal proceedings. Earlier, Court had ordered to complete a survey of the premises by May 17 and dismissed the plea of Masajid committed to changing the advocate commissioner.
