Govt will increase the number of Agniveers!

New Delhi: The notification of Agneepath Scheme of Army Recruitment is about to be released and the recruitment process will start soon. In this, the appointment will be done in the recruitment rally as before. After the announcement of this scheme, within two days, the government changed the rule and increased the age limit of appointment from 21 to 23 years. This was done because the reinstatement in the army was closed for the last two years. Because of this, the age limit for the recruitment of lakhs of youth in the army had ended and extending this by two years will give them a chance to be reinstated in the army as Agniveer. However, this will create a new problem.

Increasing the age limit will greatly increase the number of youth participating in the recruitment rally. That is why it is being said that just as the central government has increased the age limit, in the same way, it can increase the number for the first year as well. According to the plan so far, a total of 46 thousand youth are to be recruited in the three services in the first year. This number is also very less as compared to the recruitment done every year. The last time when the recruitment process was carried out, 80 thousand youth were recruited. Even before that an average of 60 to 70 thousands youths were being recruited. Since the appointment has been closed for two years, a large number of youth have come under the age limit required for appointment. Due to non-appointment for two years, close to 1.5 lakh posts have become vacant. Therefore, if the government has given relaxation in the age limit in the first year, then the number can also increase slightly
