Ex-DMs of Kanpur, Bareilly, Firozabad take up new assignments

Knp ex-DM Vishak appointed special secy to CM Yogi; Manvendra Singh of Bareilly is now ACEO Noida

Lucknow: The Election Commission on Monday instructed the state government to assign new posts to the district magistrates of Kanpur, Bareilly and Firozabad.

Acting on the instruction of the Election Commission, the government has appointed IAS Vishak of 2011 batch, District Magistrate of Kanpur as Special Secretary to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a post he held prior to becoming District Magistrate of Kanpur.

Vishak G Iyer, a native of Idukki, Kerala after completing his B.Tech, cracked the Civil Services and became an IAS officer in 2011.

He has held posts like CDO in Varanasi, Farrukhabad and Meerut, District Magistrate in Chitrakoot and Hamirpur and Special Secretary to the Chief Minister.

His wife Apoorva Dwivedi is also an IAS and currently posted as the District Magistrate of Fatehpur. IAS Manvendra Singh, District Magistrate of Bareilly, was also removed by the Election Commission, following which the state government appointed him as the Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) Noida.

He was previously DM Farrukhabad. Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Manvendra Singh was a PCS officer who was promoted to IAS in 2010.

IAS Chandra Vijay Singh, a 2012-batch IAS officer, DM, Firozabad, has been named as the MD of Firozabad Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam following his removal from the post of DM, Firozabad by the Election Commission. Singh is a native of Meerut.

He had previously held the posts of Joint Magistrate, CDO Jhansi in Mathura, Vice-Chairman of Jhansi Development Authority, CDO Ghazipur, Special Secretary Secondary Education Department before becoming the District Magistrate of Firozabad.
