ED arrests Delhi Health Minister in Rs 4.8 crore money laundering case

New Delhi: The ED on Monday arrested Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain in a case connected to hawala transactions related to a Kolkata-based company. These funds were utilised for direct purchase of land or for the repayment of loan taken for purchase of agri land in and around Delhi, officials told.

Arrest comes nearly 2 months after properties worth `4.81 crore owned by AAP leader & his family were attached by ED.CBI complaint had said Jain could not explain source of `4.63 crore received by four companies in which he was a shareholder. It had registered a case against him, his wife and 4 others on charges of corruption. It had earlier questioned him in 2018.
