Doctors day: Yogi hails docs’ role in covid fight

Lucknow: Hailing the services rendered by them in the fight against Covid, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday expressed his gratitude and greeted doctors on the occasion of National Doctors Day.

In a congratulatory message, he said that the birth anniversary of the great doctor, eminent freedom fighter and politician Dr BC Roy is celebrated as National Doctors Day all over the country. “This day is an occasion to express gratitude to the doctors for the social service being done by them,” he said.

“Everyone is aware of the role they play in nation building. We are all grateful to the doctors for their contribution in the Corona period.
They have set a unique example of service to humanity in the form of frontline corona warriors.

Without caring for their lives, the doctors worked tirelessly to save the life of each patient,” said the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Meanwhile, in a letter sent to CM, the UP Nursing Home Association has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently lauded the role of health workers in the pandemic in his radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’.

The Nursing Association said that there was no need to declare a holiday in hospitals on the occasion but programmes to honour doctors for their performance could be held.
