Contrary to the grand Kapoor celebration, Neetu and Ranbir Kapoor quietly do their Ganesh Visarjan

Mumbai (Maharashtra): The Kapoors of Bollywood were known for their grand celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi at the RK Studios which was started by the patriarch of the Kapoor household, Raj Kapoor. But since the studio was sold, the grandeur has come down to quiet homely celebrations at the Kapoor residence. This year too, it was just Neetu Kapoor and her son, Ranbir Kapoor who came for their Ganesh Visarjan.

While Neetu Kapoor donned a blue kurti, Ranbir wore a black long-sleeved t-shirt and a cap. The duo did their puja while fans and passersby looked on. The send-off was low-key and quiet and no one else from the Kapoor family other than Neetu and Ranbir was seen.

The Kapoor Ganesh Chaturthi celebration has always used to be the talk of the town ever since the ritual was started by Raj Kapoor. After that, it was headed by the three Kapoor brothers, Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor. But when the RK studios, the place where the celebrations took place, was sold in 2018, the family came together one last time to celebrate the festival that year.

Currently, Neetu Kapoor is basking in the success of the latest season of Superdancers and also a successful box office stint with her comeback film, Jugjugg Jeeyo. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the biggest release of 2022, Brahmastra - Part One: Shiva. The film stars him opposite his wife, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy. The Ayan Mukerji directorial is slated to release in theatres on September 9.
