Central team visits drought-hit areas

Jaisalmer: An interministerial team of the Central government, comprising the Director of Central Water Commission HS Sengar and the Assistant Director of NITI Ayog Shiv Charan Meena, visited the rural areas of Jaisalmer district on Wednesday.

The team assessed the loss suffered by the farmers of the area due to drought and took stock of the situation there.

They went to the agricultural fields of the farmers to have firsthand information about the drought impact at the ground level.

District Collector Dr Pratibha Singh, Additional District Collector Hari Singh Meena, Fatehgarh committee chief Janak Singh, Sub-Divisional Officer Dinesh Vishnoi, Tehsildar Madharam and other officials accompanied the Central team during the tour.
