Bollywood pour in their condolences after the demise of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala

Mumbai (Maharashtra): The death of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was utterly shocking and has sent the music industry into turmoil. The singer and politician who had recently joined the Congress party was shot 12 times at Mansa after which he was rushed to the Mansa hospital where he was declared dead upon arrival.

His security had been withdrawn a day prior by the Punjab police. A few unknown faces fired twelve rounds while the singer was sitting in his car. While he died on the spot, two others were injured.

After the news of his demise got out, several Bollywood celebrities expressed their shock and sorrow on social media.

Ajay Devgn wrote, “Stunned by the shocking death of #SidhuMoosewala. May Waheguru give his loved ones strength in their hour of grief. RIP departed soul 🙏 Still trying to wrap my head around this one.”

Meanwhile, Mika Singh, who was a good friend of the singer, took to Twitter to express his grief. “I always say I’m proud to be Punjabi but today I feel shame to be saying the same. A young talented boy just 28 years old, so popular and with such a bright future ahead of him @iSidhuMooseWala killed in Punjab by Punjabi’s. May God bless his soul and he rest in eternal peace”, the singer wrote.

Meanwhile, Swara Bhasker expressed her condolences to his family. “This is so tragic 💔 Moosewala was amongst the first artists to lend support to the #FarmersProtest Deeply unfortunate. Condolences to the bereaved families. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽”, she tweeted.

Vicky Kaushal who often posted videos of him listening to his songs put up a story dedicated to Moosewala. “Dil da nai maada”, he wrote.

I only knew #SidhuMoosewala through his music, yet the news of his demise has cut deep. India has very few authentic modern artists. He was right on top of that list.
