BJP’S MANIPUR POLLS PITCH LACED WITH NAT’L CONTRADICTIONS!

New Delhi: Polling for 60 assembly seats in Manipur will be held in two phases on March 27 and February 3.

It maybe a big surprise and contradiction in the policies of certain parties where BJP is asking for votes in the Eastern state.

Citizens of the country have been banned from visiting Manipur. If a citizen wants to go to Manipur, then he/she will have to take a permit and only after taking prior permission the citizens of the country will be able to go to Manipur.

This system of Inner Line Permit was applicable in some other areas of the Northeast, but not in Manipur. The double engine government of Manipur and the Centre implemented the system of inner line permit in the state in 2019.

At this point, there is a sense of contradiction where on one hand, the slogan of abrogation of Article 370 from J&K is being beaten on the ground stressing that now the real merger of the state has taken place in India and now any citizen of India can go to Jammu and Kashmir unhindered. But on the other hand, the system of carrying permits is being implemented in Manipur.

According to political observers, there should have been an attempt to connect the entire area with India by abolishing the permit system implemented earlier in the north-eastern states.

However, on the contrary, new areas are being brought under the permit raj.

In fact, there may be some political compulsions for the ruling party BJP which have forced the party to have two sets of rules and regulations. However, the result of this contrary arrangement will eb visible only in the election results.
