Baahubali’s Kattappa, Sathyaraj reveals he did not like his role in Chennai Express

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Chennai Express is a comedy classic with amazing chemistry between the lead couple Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan, great comic timings, amazing songs and a memorable villain. Another character that people still remember today is Meenamma as in Deepika’s father. Played by South actor Sathyaraj, the character portrayed the dominating and strong-headed aura that a village chief should possess. He not only scared Rahul aka SRK but also the viewers.

But very few know that Sathyaraj is the actor behind the famous character Kattappa from Baahubali. During a recent interview, the Baahubali actor revealed his experience working in Bollywood with SRK. He stated that he did not like the character he was offered when the makers initially approached him. He felt that it was not that great for him and expressed this concern to Rohit Shetty and SRK. However, he ended up doing the film as he liked Shah Rukh and wanted to work with him. “I like SRK's acting a lot. His films, like 'DDLJ' and several others, did extremely well”, the actor said.

Shah Rukh Khan is currently working on three big projects that will be released in the year 2023. The first one is ‘Pathaan’ with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the next is Atlee’s ‘Jawan’ with Nayanthara and Sanya Malhotra and then he has Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ alongside Taapsee Pannu.
