Arjun and Alia show their true friendship as they come in defence of Ranveer Singh’s nude photoshoot

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Ranveer Singh is a phenomenal actor but more than that, he is an excellent co-star who has had great camaraderie with his co-actors. Recently, the actor bared it all and posed sans any clothes for Paper magazine. To say that the pictures created quite a storm on the internet would not suffice enough. The actor has become a subject of praise, memes and hatred as well. Although the actor has not spoken on the matter, for now, he has had his costars to defend him from all the trolls.

Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor have been the best of friends since their time together on ‘Gunday’. Both the actors have always been there for each other and been present for their major events. Now, as Ranveer faces flak on the internet, his “Baba” as they lovingly call each other, has come out to defend him. Arjun said, “You should be allowed to be yourself. He is that way. Ranveer Singh never does anything without being himself. He is not pretentious. You are seeing him for 10-12 years and there’s the same energy, and warmth whenever he goes anywhere. It’s just an extension of his personality.”

He added, “It’s his life, his choice, and his social media. He felt it was the right thing to do. He did it. He wants to celebrate himself; he is being comfortable in his skin and we should respect that. Having an opinion is fair. I don’t believe in giving importance to the trolls anyway because people will always say something. Kuch toh log kahenge unka kaam hai kehna.”

Ranveer’s Gully Boy co-star, Alia Bhatt too came to support her favourite costar during the trailer launch of her film, ‘Darlings’. When asked about his shoot, the actress quickly said, “I don't like anything negative said about my favourite co-star Ranveer Singh...toh main yeh question ko bardasht bhi nahi kar sakti (I can’t even tolerate this question). I love him, he's eternally favourite to every one of us actually and he has given us so much in the movies. We should only give him love.”

The duo will next be seen again in Karan Johar’s directorial, Rocky Aur Rani ki Prem Kahani alongside Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The film is set to release next year.
