An emotional Aamir recalls how he was humiliated in school each time his family struggled to pay his fees

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Aamir Khan is one of the most bankable stars in the Hindi film industry and has delivered megahits with every release. He is now also a producer and brought forward stories that have touched the audience immensely. But the actor recalls that there was a time when his family struggled to even pay his school fees while they were drowning in debt.

Aamir is currently promoting his upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha and hence has given several interviews where he got candid like never before about intimate topics such as his bond with his family, his personal struggles and more. Recently, in a chat with the Humans of Bombay, Aamir spoke about how his family struggled to pay his fees when he was in school. Although Aamir comes from an elite family of film producer Tahir Hussain and wife Zeenat Hussain, they were drowning in debt during that time and he was the eldest among four siblings – Aamir, Faisal, Farhat and Nikhat.

With tears in his eyes, Aamir explained that they suffered a rough patch for eight years. His school fee structure during the time was ₹6 for sixth grade, ₹7 for seventh grade, ₹8 for eighth grade and so on. However, despite this, he and his siblings were always late to pay their dues. The principal would announce their names in the assembly after giving them one or two warnings.

Workwise, Aamir will soon be seen in Laal Singh Chaddha alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. The film, directed by Advait Chandan will release in the theatres on August 11.
