Alia Bhatt calls out news publications for archaic and patriarchal ideologies

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announced their pregnancy with much pomp on June 27. After that, the adorable couple received a lot of love from family, friends, colleagues and fans. Everyone was excited for the pair as they step into a new phase of their life. Since then, the entire media is eager to know more about the development and Alia’s pregnancy has become the topic of discussion. But now, the actress has called out a news publication for posting false news regarding her schedule during her pregnancy.

After Alia shared a sweet picture clicked during her wedding rituals and thanked everyone for the love and wishes, she shared the screenshot of news about her pregnancy and called them out for their patriarchal ideologies. The news publication shared a story written by another media outlet that stated that the actress will take a rest after her shooting schedule. They further wrote that Ranbir will pick Alia up from London after she is done with her shoot for Heart of Stone. They claimed that Alia planned her pregnancy according to her schedule so that she would be done with all her shoots by the end of July.

The actress wrote a lengthy caption along with the screenshot saying, “Meanwhile we still live in some peoples heads we still live in some patriarchal world…fyi. Nothing has gotten delayed!!!!! No one needs to pick anyone up. I am a woman not a parcel!!!! I do not need to REST at all but good to know you’ll have a doctor’s certificate as well J This is 2022. Can we please get out of this archake way of thinking! Now if you would excuse me..my shot is ready (sic)”

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married on April 14, 2022, and announced their pregnancy two months later on June 27 with a cute picture from their sonography. Alia is currently shooting for her Hollywood debut ‘Heart of Stone’ in London while Ranbir Kapoor is busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Shamshera’.
