Aishwaryaa and Dhanush make their first appearance together with son Yathra after their separation

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Aishwaryaa Rajnikanth and Dhanush were one of the most powerful couples in the Indian film industry. The duo was not only married for 18 years, but had two handsome sons, were each other’s supports in their respective careers and always made the warmest appearances together. Hence, when they announced their separation, it spread like a shockwave across the country. But the two seem to remain on a friendlier term as they made their first appearance together post their split.

Aishwaryaa and Dhanush attended their eldest son, Yathra’s school function together and even posed for the cameras with him. There did not seem any awkwardness between them and both of them were all smiles while proudly holding their son. It was the Investiture ceremony of their son who took the oath as the school’s sports captain, the couple’s PRO Riaz K Ahmed mentioned in his tweet. Aishwaryaa too shared the proud moment on Twitter and wrote, “What a way to start the day! Monday morning watching the Investiture Ceremony of school, where my firstborn takes up oath as sports captain.”

The duo started dating and got married in 2004, after six months of dating. It was a love-cum-marriage where their meeting was initiated by their families and ended up turning into a love story. However, after being together for 18 years and having two sons, Yathra and Lingaa, the two announced their separation earlier this year. In a joint statement, the couple said, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents, and well-wishers to each other The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate…Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better.”
