Ahead of state budget session, Tourism Min takes review meet

Jaipur: Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Vishvendra Singh took a review meeting of the tourism department on Monday.

During this, he discussed the implementation of the budget announcements of the Chief Minister, the progress of the pending schemes of the department, the progress of the centrally sponsored schemes, the current status of the proposals for the new tourism circuit, the budget proposals, progress of the maintenance work of units of Tourism Corporation, & operations of Palace on Wheels.

Keeping in mind the domestic tourists, he was asked to prepare an action plan for small tour packages whose tariff is also low. Along with this, other issues including marketing of tourism products, cruise tourism were discussed.

Reopening of closed tourism offices was also discussed, emphasis would be on promotion of tourism products through aggressive marketing.

Media plan of tourism department was also approved. Minister Vishvendra Singh said special focus should be given to tourist places of eastern Raj.
