ACB team arrests Barmer excise inspector, aide in graft case

Barmer: A team of Anti corruption bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested an excise inspector and his middleman for accepting monthly protection money.

Shockingly, the bribe amount was accepted through the digital payment mode ‘PhonePe’. The accused officer was transferred around two months ago despite this he was harassing the complainant to settle down his due protection money.

Ramniwas Sunda, add superintendent of ACB in Barmer confirmed the report. ACB official said that complainant, an owner of wine shop at Chohtan circle in Barmer, approached the ACB alleging that Rakesh Khatri, excise inspector in Barmer is harassing him for protection money.

Complainant alleged that the bribe was demanding for smooth operation of his wine shop. ACB officials said that further investigation is underway
