Now, 50 Units of free electricity for domestic users in Rajasthan

Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot had made several announcements for agriculture consumers with an aim to reduce the burden of electricity bill.

He announced 50 units of free electricity for those using 100 units per month, Rs 3/per unit grant for all domestic consumers consuming up to 150 units, and Rs 2/unit grant for consumers who consume 151 to 300 units per month.

The “powerful” announcements will directly benefit 1.18 electricity consumers in the state and this will put a financial burden of Rs 4500 crore on the exchequer.

In the energy sector, the CM’s focus was on increasing power generation. Two ultra-supercritical power units will be installed in Chhabra.

The units of 660 MW each will be set up at a cost of 9600 crores. Kalisindh-Jhalawar power project will also be expanded. 48 lakh electricity consumers will have smart meters. Meters will be replaced in two years at a cost of Rs 3565 crores.
