Kota: A Nigerian youth has been sentenced to 3.5 years imprisonment. ADJ Court 1 has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the guilty Nigerian youth Mende Ikene.

In July 2023, Kota Railway Police arrested the accused on charges of not having visa and ticket. The Nigerian youth travelling in Rajdhani Express train was caught by TT after which he was handed over to GRP. The young man had earlier lived in Alwar after coming to India from Nigeria.

GRP presented a challan in the court. After the case remained pending in the court for 10 months, ADJ court no. 1 found the accused guilty. It is being told that this is the first case in Kota when a foreigner has been sentenced.
