Jaipur: In a move that has taken the political and business circles by surprise, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has shown an unparalleled level of seriousness and proactivity in turning the MoUs signed during the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ summit into concrete action. On Monday, he led a marathon meeting that lasted for four hours, overseeing discussions on investment proposals worth over Rs 1,000 crore. It was for the first time in Rajasthan’s governance history that the CM had delayed discussion on each matter in 126 proposals of 16 departments, excluding Energy dept.

It has not even been a month since the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ summit, yet the CM has already embarked on action to implement the MoUs. Experts note that while previous govts held investment summits, they largely failed to follow through. Those summits were often limited to grand events, lacking the will or interest to bring promises to fruition. In contrast, this govt is making a notable departure from the past.

The summit in Dec, which saw a 3-day event and the signing of investment proposals totaling over Rs 37 lakh crore, was exceptional in itself. The fact that it was held in the first year of the govt’s tenure and attended by the PM further amplified its significance. Now, CM Sharma’s involvement in executing these MoUs is equally remarkable.

On Monday, the CM convened a detailed meeting with CS Sudhansh Pant, ACS Shikhar Agrawal and senior officials, including the ACS, Principal Secies, and Secies of all 15 depts involved in the MoUs. Each proposal was discussed, and clear guidelines were set on how to bring these to fruition. The message emerging from this meeting is clear: Under CM Bhajan Lal Sharma’s leadership, State is poised to make history in terms of capital investment. When the CM will review the results of the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ one year from now, it is expected that a new image of the state will have emerged—an image defined by progress, investment, and industrial growth. The enthusiasm and resolve demonstrated by CM Sharma on Monday is a beacon of hope for the industrial sector, signaling a bright future.
