Election Commission reviews preps for Raj Phase-2 LS Poll

Jaipur: Election Commission officials on Monday reviewed preparation for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections through video conferencing. The meeting was chaired by the Election Commission’s Deputy Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar Sahu today with all the District Collectors and Superintendents of Police for the second phase of polling in the state.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that in the meeting, emphasis was laid on keeping in mind all the protocols related to EVMs for the Lok Sabha elections. The officer also suggested holding meetings with representatives and candidates of political parties from time to time as per the need. He took information from all the presiding officers and district superintendents of police about home voting, training, polling party departure arrangements, model code of conduct, the status of confiscation, etc. in their districts. Gupta informed the higher officials of the Commission about home voting in state and coordination with central observers. Voting will be held in second phase on 26 April in 13 LS seats.
