2.5-yr-old who was abducted while playing outside home, rescued

Jaipur: In a shocking incident, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was reportedly kidnapped while she was playing outside her house in Mansarovar area of Jaipur on Thursday but timely action by police has helped in bringing the girl back safely. The CCTV footage of the incident showed a woman and a 15-year-old with child.

During investigation, it came to light that the woman had cut the girl’s hair after taking her along. Police said that the son of the accused woman had died during Covid and she wanted to bring her up as her son and got her hair cut. The accused woman and her daughter are being interrogated.

SHO (Mansarovar) Rajendra Godara said that the father, Ratan Singh, who lives near Sector-45 Power House, registered a complaint. Vartika was playing inside the house but without the family realising, she went out. When they did not find her, the family searched extensively. But she was not found. The girl’s mother and elder sister were present in the house at the time of the incident.
