BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla hits back at Jharkhand CM Soren's 'chooha' remark

New Delhi: BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren over his remark on RSS, where he labelled RSS workers as 'chooha' (rats). He questioned his silence on Bangladeshi infiltrators who enter Santhal Pargana and encroach on land.
BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla said, "Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren calls nationalists and people elected by the public 'chooha'. But he doesn't say anything about the Bangladeshi infiltrators who enter Santhal Pargana and encroach on land, because this pertains to his vote bank."
Soren, while addressing a rally on September 25 in Jharkhand, said that the people of RSS will enter Jharkhand like 'chooha' (rats) and break our society.
He further dismissed allegations made by BJP leaders of demographic change in Jharkhand, suggesting the BJP look into the data of neighbouring West Bengal.
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren said, "Assam CM comes to Jharkhand and criticises the state's people and state government...We will give a befitting reply...They will talk about changing demography and Bangladeshi infiltrators. I would like to tell them to look at the data of the Government of India to determine how the numbers have changed in which district and which state. Go and see what the data is in Bengal. Then see the data of various districts in Jharkhand. You would find that there is no change in the demography here."
Reacting to the Jharkhand CM's remarks, Poonawalla said, "He said that no demographic change has occurred in Jharkhand, it has happened in West Bengal. Who has had governments in West Bengal? Not BJP. Left, followed by the TMC. So, he has accepted that there has been a demographic change in West Bengal, which was ruled by the Left as well as Mamata Banerjee."
Poonawalla further attacked the INDIA bloc and stated that the 'one party of the INDI Alliance is targeting another party of the alliance'.
"It means that one party of INDI Alliance is targeting another party of the alliance. No mission, no vision, no common part, only ambition, their own confusion and their own corruption...Did he attack them inadvertently or deliberately? He knows it. But the truth has come out that a demographic change in West Bengal has indeed occurred. But the question is that this is happening in Jharkhand as well and the High Court too has said the same. Hemant Soren should speak on this," BJP spokesperson Poonawalla added.
