Rajkummar Rao opens up on his character role in Bheed

One of the most shattering sights of the Covid-19 pandemic was the flood of people suddenly rendered rudderless by the announcement of one of the most stringent lockdowns in the world . Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Bheed’, shot in greyed-out B&W, is a grim and necessary reminder of this recent tragedy. The film stars Rajkummar Rao , Bhumi Pednekar and Dia Mirza among others. Rajkummar spoke exclusively to Ashish Tiwari of First India in an exclusive interview. 

Speaking on taking up such character based roles Rao Shared , “When you get a good story with a challenging character, it will open up doors for me to learn new things so I always tend on taking up such roles. But along side I also focus on movies like Stree and Guns and Gulabs to explore all avenues of acting”

On why did he say yes to Bheed he shared , “I am a fan of Anubhav Sinha, when he shared the story of Bheed with me I was really intrigued with the story so it was important to tell this to the people . The cherry on the cake was the super talented cast that I got to work with”

Sharing his camaraderie with his co stars he shared , “From Pankaj Ji I have learned that he actually worships what he does I believe that’s why he is very selective about the work he does because he gives his all to whatever he does. At the same time Ashutosh sir he’s not only a brilliant actor but his way of looking at life is amazing I have learnt a lot from him throughout “

Speaking on his lockdown period he shared , “During the second wave i did by bit for the people , but yes personal loss was right there i know people very close to me being on ventilators. People used to reach out for help and I believe I have tried my best to be there.”

Well , Bheed is a film that is shown on screen in Black and white film to showcase the tragedy in the movie and has been receiving lot of appreciations for the same. 

After Bheed the actor will be seen in Guns and Gulaabs with  Raj DK and Krishna Nidimoru.
