70th National Film Awards Recognizes 4 Films Streaming on ZEE5

 ZEE5, India and Bharat’s largest home-grown video streaming platform, the OTT arm of ZEEL is proud to showcase that four films streaming on ZEE5 have been honoured at the 70th National Film Awards across 6 categories. The titles winning the awards include Uunchai, Karthikeya 2, Vaalvi and Aparajito. With its commitment to delivering diverse and engaging content, ZEE5 has crossed yet another milestone in bringing real, relatable, and cutting-edge content to its viewers. 

Winning Categories:

•    Best Telugu Film: Karthikeya 2
The thrilling adventure film featuring a fearless archaeologist embarking on a quest to uncover a mystical artifact, Karthikeya 2 won the Best Telugu Film.

•    Best Marathi Film: Vaalvi
The compelling Marathi film that delves into the complexities of human relationships and societal norms, Vaalvi won the Best Marathi Film.

•    Best Director: Sooraj Barjatya, Uunchai
With his perfection and eye for detail adding depth and authenticity to the film, Sooraj Barjatya won the Best Director for the movie Uunchai, a tale of perseverance and self-discovery.

•    Best Supporting Actress: Neena Gupta Uunchai
Captivating the audience with her performance, Neena Gupta was awarded the Best Supporting Actress for her contribution in the movie Uunchai, a gripping narrative highlighting themes of friendship and resilience.

•    Best Production Design: Aparajito
Aparajito, won the Best Production Design with its meticulous set design and visual aesthetics enhancing its poignant exploration of ambition portrays the struggle of a young man’s journey from rural India to the larger world.

•    Best Make Up: Aparajito
The eye-catching drama exploring a young boy’s journey to academic success, Aparajito won the award for the Best Make up

Established in 1954, the National Film Awards overseen by the Directorate of Film Festivals honours outstanding achievements in Indian cinema across various languages and categories. Recognizing excellence in film direction, acting, production, and technical crafts, these prestigious awards celebrate the artistic and technical contributions of filmmakers. First presented in 1954 the Government of India conceived the ceremony to honour films made across India, on a national scale, to encourage the furthering of Indian art and culture.
