To stop the spread of COVID-19 disease, the Uttar Pradesh government has chosen to actualize exacting lockdown over the state on ends of the week, a senior authority said on Sunday.
"The lockdown on ends of the week will be executed from the coming Saturday and Sunday particularly in the jam-packed territories.
The business sectors and workplaces will stay shut on nowadays. In any case, the banks will stay open," Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Information) Awanish Awasthi said.
"This is being done fundamentally to stop the spread of contamination through undesirable physical development. Monetary exercises will, in any case, not endure," he included.
The lockdown will stay compelling in both urban and rustic territories of the state.
"It (lockdown) will be set up for the long stretch of July at any rate," Awasthi said.
According to sources, markets will open from Monday to Friday in UP and sanitisation will be done on the ends of the week. The administration expects to test 50,000 coronavirus tests for every day.
