Crime in Rajasthan: Enlightened class, hurt by increasing atrocities on women, girls and Dalits in the state, Enlightened class has submitted a memorandum to the Governor and sought to intervene.
Enlightened class enraged by several inhuman incidents like kidnapping of women and girls in Rajasthan, rape and gang rape and atrocities with Dalits, Enlightened class submitted memorandum to Governor Kalraj Mishra Has demanded intervention by handing over. Those who submitted the memorandum include 37 eminent people from different regions of the state.
These include 16 former vice-chancellors, former IAS, IPS, former army officer general, colonel, major, former income tax commissioner and people who have served as president in various commissions of the government.
The memorandum states that in the year 2019 and 2020, according to the National Crime Records Bureau in crimes with women and rape-related crimes, Rajasthan has come first and second.
Sisters and daughters of the state are feeling insecure and are living in an environment of fear and the police-administration is sitting with these eyes closed. The whole society is worried about this. They have called the state government insensitive.
In the memorandum, many incidents have been mentioned in the state in the past. It says that a 15-year-old girl studying in class eight was raped in Sikar. Her video was made and other people also raped her, threatening to make her viral on social media.
Heinous crime of gangrape occurred with Sirohi's minor girl. The incident of gang rape came after the kidnapping of two minor sisters in Baran district.
In the Shiva police station area of Barmer, after finding the girl alone in the house, two people riding a motorcycle raped her and raped her and took pornographic videos. In Bukna village of Karauli, the priest of the temple was burnt alive due to which he died.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan University J.P. Singhal told that there is anger and fear among the people due to such heinous crime and inhuman incidents happening in the state.
