Municipal Corporation elections: The National Democratic Party will also try its luck independently in Municipal Corporation elections. Party convenor Hanuman Beniwal has announced this on Thursday.
The National Democratic Party, which is trying to stand as an alternative to the Third Front in the state, will contest the elections. Party convenor Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal announced this on Thursday.
The party will contest the elections of the 6 municipal corporations of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota independently. All three party MLAs have been put in charge for elections.
After giving a press conference in Nagaur on Thursday, Nagaur MP and party convenor Hanuman Beniwal said that after discussions with party officials, it has been decided to contest these elections.
Party candidates will be fielded for all the 6 municipal corporations of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota. The party will contest this election independently. Beniwal said that we are under pressure from public sentiments to contest elections. There is no talk of an alliance with the BJP in the municipal elections yet.
It is noteworthy that RLP is a constituent of NDA in Rajasthan. In the last assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the party has fought in alliance with the BJP. BJP has MPs on 24 of the total 25 seats in Rajasthan's Lok Sabha. At the same time, Nagaur seat was left by BJP for RLP under alliance. On this RLP Convenor Hanuman Beniwal won.
After his becoming MP, the vacant seat of Khivansar assembly was also given by BJP to RLP under alliance. Beniwal's younger brother Narayan Beniwal won on him. RLP has three MLAs in the state.
Beniwal formed his new party during the last assembly election. The party's base is still more in rural areas. In these too, the party received good votes in the last assembly elections in West Rajasthan.
