Partial improvement in Delhi air quality but still in the 'POOR' category
Delhi's air quality improved partially on Saturday due to the speed of favorable winds, but it still remains in the 'poor' category. Government agencies said that the air quality index (AQI) will improve further during the day and is expected to fall into the 'medium' category.
AQI 263 at 9 am on Saturday
Delhi's AQI was 263 at 9 am on Saturday, while the average 24-hour AQI of 296 was recorded on Friday. Similarly, AQI in Delhi was 283 and 211 respectively on last Thursday and Wednesday. It is noteworthy that the air quality index between zero to 50 is 'good', between 51 and 100 is satisfactory, 101 to 200 is 'medium', 201 to 300 is 'bad', 301 to 400 is 'very poor' and Air quality index between 401 and 500 is considered to be in the 'severe' category.
