The race for White House intensifies in the last leg of presidential elections

It’s show time folks. Time to up the rhetoric, last-minute lobbying and showcasing some turncoats to prove one’s point as the vote to seal the fate of one of the world’s most powerful office draws near. With election merely 12 days away, the news headlines and events have started following a predictable pattern.

The liberal blue state media, notably CNN, Washington Post, New York Times have got a messiah in the form of John Kelly, former chief of staff for Donald Trump who in an interview to the NYT said that the former president ‘met the definition of a fascist.’ Whereas for the Fox network, Trump supporting social and digital media platforms the interviews Vice President Harris gave to Fox News and Telemundo are God sent.

For the third consecutive time the US Presidential election is revolving around one man, Donald J Trump. You might like him or not, agree with him or differ but there is no denying the fact that election revolves around him.

Will he be second time lucky in his third attempt to occupy the Oval Office is all that matters, to Americans and world at large. How do observers look at the strategy both camps are following in the last leg.

“As election day draws closer Donald Trump looks like he is consolidating his base and working to gain acceptability among voters. Whereas after the nomination euphoria and the billiondollar fund collection blitz with each passing day and interview, questions are being asked of Harris,” opines Washington DC based journalist Lalit jha.

The messaging Trump camp has been harping on has remained consistent over the eight years, he simply says Make America Great Again (MAGA campaign) and that has not lost its appeal among his core base of voters while Harris’s campaign is seen as the one that keeps status quo.

Does she have what it takes to win the highstake battle is a question on minds of many.

Neil Smith, DC based democratic supporter and volunteer in party campaign says, “we hope she crosses the line, she charged up the party base with her nomination and speeches. But when it comes to facing interviews and questions on Biden administration’s policies she doesn’t come across as a confident leader. That is worrying. As American president is a lot about charisma.”

To prove their charisma and following beyond party lines both campaigns have been show casing support of onetime challengers. As a part of #Countryoverparty campaign Harris shared stage with long time republican Liz Cheney and is actively pushing Republican Voters against Trump. To counter this Trump got Former democratic congresswoman and a candidate in democratic presidential race Tulsi Gabbard to join the Republican Party and endorse him as a leader for the common man.

As the poll margins fluctuate more than the consistency in speeches of the candidates, it boils down to who will get more people to come out and vote in their support. “More hands on the deck, better are your chances to seal a win,” concludes Neil.
