Guv provides update on pandemic control
Lucknow: Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday attended an interaction with Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and updated them about the steps taken in the state to curb spread of the pandemic.
The governor highlighted Teeka Utsav campaign and said that more than 8000 centres across all districts were engaged in administration of Covid vaccine to people above 45 years of age in Uttar Pradesh.
She also apprised them that all female employees at Raj Bhawan were vaccinated on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2021, which was later followed by vaccination of other employees above 45 years of age.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, in his address asked Governors to collaborate actively with Chief Ministers in the fight against COVID-19.
During the virtual interaction with governors on COVID-19 situation and the vaccination drive, he said there was a need to implement the proven and reliable strategy of ‘test track and treat’ with renewed vigour to counter the spread of coronavirus.
