India may win learning from past

Ahmedabad: While all eyes would be on the cricket World Cup final match between India and Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, this time there are high chances that India may emerge winners defying all odds against the mighty Aussies.

Indian players may succeed learning from their past mistakes in the previous World Cup editions of 2003, 2015 and 2019 when the Indian team had got knocked out (in finals in 2003 and in semi-finals of 2015 and 2019). While Australia had defeated India in the 2003 WC final and 2015 WC semis, it was New Zealand that had gotten the better of India in the 2019 WC semis.

The Indian team is not only in excellent form in this edition of the World Cup, it also has several members from the past editions who may lay the foundation of victory this time learning from their past mistakes.

There are more reasons for India to win Sunday’s finale clash with Australia as Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid was a key member of the 2003 Indian team that lost to Australia in 2003. Dravid’s past good record, current form and lessons he might have learned from that heart-breaking defeat should prove handy in guiding the current team to victory.

Similarly, from the India WC squads of 2015 and 2019 there are several players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd Shami and Jasprit Bumrah who also might have learned from their past mistakes and thus perform better this time.
