Delhi Capitals, UP Warriorz march ahead

Mumbai: Tara Norris, hailing from Philadelphia sealed the fate of the match in just two overs. In her WPL debut, she took wickets of some renowned batters in the world and became the first player to take a fifer in WPL, to guide Delhi Capitals to a 60-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore here on Sunday. RCB tried hard with a valiant knock from Megan Schutt (22) but her efforts went in vain. RCB finished the match with a boundary and their final score was 163/8. Delhi’s Tara Norris took a five-wicket haul. Norris took wickets of Ellyse Perry (31) and Disha Kasat (9) in a single over.

In the second match of the day, Harris, Navgire half-centuries drive UP Warriorz to thrilling victory against Gujarat Giants in a what can be called a nail-biting match. Earlier, Harleen Deol’s hard-hitting knock and her combination with Australian allrounder Ashleigh Gardner enabled Gujarat Giants to a respectable total of 169/6 in their match against UP Warriorz at DY Patil Stadium here.
