Bedham inaugurates archery competition

Jaipur: Minister of State for Home, Jawahar Singh Bedham inaugurated the state archery competition at Jaipur’s Purnima University on Saturday. Archers from all over the state gathered in Jaipur.

On the first day, ranking rounds of recurve and compound were held. International archers Indrachand Swami and Ajay Kumar Nagarwal jointly topped the ranking round of the men’s recurve event. In the women’s category, international archers Swati Dudhwal and Maya Bishnoi reached the final round. Asian Games gold medalist Rajat Chauhan ranked 17th.

Rajasthan Olympic Association President Tejaswi Singh Gehlot and University ViceChancellor Rahul Singhi were present at the event.

Bedham said that the state government is working for the development of sports, while Gehlot said that his goal is to provide the best facilities to the players.

Men’s and Women’s Senior Category matches will be held on September 28 and 29, Sub Junior men and women category on September 30 and October 1 and Men’s and women’s junior category matches on October 2 and 3.
