Youth looted, shots fired at DSP, 2 held

Dholpur: A youth was grievously injured in the Diholi area of Dholpur district on Friday night after two bikeborne miscreants fired gunshots at the victim and looted jewellery and seven lakh rupees from him. The miscreants also opened fire on Dholpur Circle Officer when he tried to catch him. However, the police officer had a narrow escape as he was wearing a bulletproof jacket.

Police informed the victim, Rishikesh Thakur, a resident of Harkand Ka Pura village of Diholi area, was heading towards Fatehabad in Uttar Pradesh along with other relatives for his sister’s marriage. “The two miscreants, identified as Vishnu Bhagat and Naresh Jat, attacked Rishikesh Thakur near Samliyapura village. The victim sustained bullet injuries in his leg and was rushed to a nearby hospital. The accused snatched the bag from the victim filled with jewellery and Rs 7 lakh cash,” police said.
