YATRA HAS BEEN A BOON FOR US: GEHLOT

Alwar: Addressing the press conference on the last day of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has shaken the NDA government. “Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah are nervous. Nadda Saheb and BJP people have become distracted,” Gehlot said alleging that the (union govt) has put pressure on the media, due to which the media of Delhi is not showing the news related to the yatra. “This yatra is for social concern. Rahul Gandhi has come out talking about price rise, unemployment and non-violence. The Yatra is getting tremendous support from the people. People come and stand for hours in line to be a part of the yatra. It shows the message of yatra,” he said.

The Chief Minister further said that Bharat Jodo Yatra has proved to be a boon for Rajasthan. “The purpose of the yatra is to provide relief to the people from inflation, according to that the government of Rajasthan is also working. We promised to give gas cylinders in Rs 500,” he said. Referring to Chiranjeevi, Pension, Urban MNREGA, Udaan and Old Pension Scheme, Gehlot said that people have got relief from inflation.

“We will make these plans the basis & try to remove the shortcomings in upcoming budget. Making plans & their successful implementation are two different things. These 5 schemes have been successful. The theme of social security that we have kept will continue in future too. The Raj govt will soon form a scheme for social security of workers working through apps like Ola, Uber, Swiggy, so that companies cannot do arbitrary things with them. Rajasthan will be the first state to do so,” the CM said. Attacking the BJP, Gehlot said, “During Corona our government helped lakhs of people. It was our effort that no one sleeps hungry. Now the SC has also given the same decision that the government should ensure that no one sleeps hungry. We will also work on the issues that have come up during the yatra. Rahul Gandhi has asked to increase the number of English schools. We will spread a network of English medium schools all over Rajasthan,” he said. Commenting on Yatra’s impact, Gehlot said. “This Yatra also has a message. Rahul Gandhi has been successful in delivering his message. People believe that unemployment, inflation should be reduced & that if the constitution survives, the country will survive.” Speaking on misuse of agencies, Gehlot said, “A list is given from above where raids are to be conducted before polls. People who donate to Opposition are threatened. Today one sided game is going on. This has to be understood by country & the people. If you don’t understand, you will be in trouble. Congress has protected democracy. Cong used to run the govt based on ‘log kya kahenge’. In our time, resignations of CMs, Ministers took place, but have you ever heard about resignations in BJP govt,” he said.
