Widow thrashed by dozen women over alleged affair

Udaipur/Gogunda: A widow was beaten up and assaulted by a group of women after being tied to a tree in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district over suspicion of having an illicit relationship, police said on Saturday. The incident happened in the Devla area of the district on June 29, but the matter came to light after a purported video of the incident surfaced on social media, they said.

The widow was suspected of having an affair and was beaten, stripped naked, had her hair cut, and chili powder inserted into her private parts. During the assault, widow’s two-year-old child cried, but the cold-hearted women did not show any mercy towards her.

The Superintendent of Police, Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav, stated that police have registered a case. Police have also arrested the accused, Rami Bai, her brother Vinod Kumar Garasia, and sister-inlaw Reshmi in Nana police station area of Pali.
