Visitors delight in a melange of competitions, cultural performances & sporting spectacles

Jaisalmer: Several competitions are planned at the Desert Festival in Jaisalmer. Instrumental music and yoga were performed at Gadisar Pond, while a camel ornamentation competition was staged at Dedansar Grounds on day three of the Festival. There was a camel parade with various decorations. The Shaan-e-Marudhara competition was held, in which the camel owner prepared himself first, followed by the camel, which was driven to the winning line. At 12 p.m., Indian Air Force soldiers performed an ‘Air Warrior Drill Show,’ followed by a Kabaddi match between the visitors & the District Sports Association at Dedansar Stadium. District Sports Association squad won by 13-7. The visitors also enjoyed the tug- of- war between the domestic and international visitors. Foreign visitors also competed in the ‘Matka Racing’ competition. A camel-polo match was also played.
