Villagers timely rescue 10 pilgrims

Karauli: The rescue operations carried throughout the day for searching for five missing persons in Chambal river in Karauli. During the operation, two dead bodies were recovered by 2 pm. Police officials said that the rescue op was started about half an hour after the accident which took place at around 7 am.

17 devotees were going from MP to visit Kaila Devi temple in Karauli and they were washed away in Chambal. 10 of them were rescued by villagers soon after the incident.

As soon as the information was received, the team of police and district administration reached the spot. The rescue operation was started by a team of divers. In the afternoon, two dead bodies were recovered with the help of divers while search for others continued.
