Udaipur to witness grand ‘same-sex destination wedding’

Jaipur: Udaipur city, which is gaining fame in the country and abroad for destination wedding, is now in the news for a gay marriage. This marriage rituals will start in royal style at the luxury hotel on Devuthani Gyaras. This pair of young men who are coming to get married work together in America. One of these youths is an NRI and the other is an American citizen. Both of them have decided to live together for the rest of their lives and for this, a destination wedding has been planned. In this royal wedding, invitation cards have been distributed in a very secret manner through the website. More than a hundred guests from across the country and abroad will attend the wedding. An invitation has been sent in the card giving information about Hindu traditions of marriage. Mehndi ceremony, sangeet and ring ceremony is on Nov 23, while wedding will be held in the traditional manner on Nov 24. The card is printed with the Ganesh Mantra like other wedding invitation cards, only the boy’s name is also given instead of the girl’s name. Recently there was a debate in the country regarding gay marriage. On the petition in this case, the Supreme Court in its decision had refused to legally recognize gay marriage. The Supreme Court had said in its decision that the job of making laws lies with the Parliament and the Legislative Assemblies. The Court also emphasized that homosexual persons have the right to choose their partner. In India, this type of marriage is not recognized by law as well as society.
