Two new judges take oath in High Court at Jodhpur

Jodhpur: The two newly-appointed judges of Rajasthan High Court were sworn in on Monday. Acting Chief Justice MM Shrivastava administered them the oath of office at Court No. 1 in Jodhpur HC premises. Justice Kuldeep Mathur and Justice Shubha Mehta were sworn in as judges of high court. With two new judges, the total number of judges will be 27 in Rajasthan High Court, while 23 posts are still vacant.

The swearing-in ceremony is noteworthy because this is the first time in history of the Rajasthan High Court that a husband-wife duo will be sitting at the HC at same time. Notably, Justice Shubha Mehta is married to Justice Mahendra Kumar Goyal, who is already serving as HC judge.
